Aaron G. Hale
Actor.
Creative Producer.
World Builder.
I build stories, experiences, and creative communities that remind people it’s still okay to care.
If we're talking about working together, I'd rather show you how I think than hand you a résumé.
Everything below comes from the same belief:
Great stories don't just entertain people. They give them somewhere to belong.
My Philosophy…
Earnest is punk rock.
No, I'm not talking about Jim Varney's Ernest... although he was pretty punk in his own way.
I think, somewhere along the way, sincerity stopped being cool. We got really good at irony, detachment, and pretending not to care. I think we've lost something because of it.
The work I make isn't afraid to care deeply. I want people to laugh hard, feel something real, and leave believing that optimism and vulnerability are still worth putting on screen. To me, earnestness isn't the opposite of punk rock. It is punk rock. In a world that rewards cynicism, choosing to care feels rebellious.
Build the room you wish existed.
For a long time, I found myself wishing there were more places to meet collaborators, celebrate movies, and make ambitious things with people who were just as excited as I was.
Eventually I realized I could spend my life waiting for someone else to build that room… or I could build it myself.
That idea has shaped almost everything I do. Whether it's a live table read, a film club, a production company, or simply introducing two creative people who should know each other, I believe the best communities are created intentionally. If the place you want doesn't exist yet, that's an invitation to make it.
Make things with good people.
I've learned that the projects I'm proudest of aren't necessarily the biggest ones. They're the ones where I looked around the room and thought, "I can't believe I get to make this with these people."
Talent matters. Ambition matters. But kindness, generosity, and curiosity matter just as much. I want to spend my career building things alongside people who make each other better.
Details create worlds.
Some of my favorite moments in movies have nothing to do with plot. They're the tiny details that make a world feel like it existed long before the camera arrived.
I obsess over those things. The production design, wardrobe, posters on the wall, music playing in the background, the way a character talks, the tone of a title card, even the experience someone has before they walk into an event.
Details aren't decoration. They're what convince people they're somewhere else. When enough thoughtful details come together, they stop feeling like details and start feeling like a world.
Give people permission.
Movies have always done more than entertain me. They've given me permission.
Permission to make something weird.
Permission to care.
Permission to pursue a creative life.
Permission to be hopeful.
I can't count how many movies have sent me home thinking, "Well... I guess I have to go make something now."
I hope the things I create do the same for someone else. If a film, a live event, or even a silly fake audition inspires one person to finally make the thing they've been putting off, that's a success to me.

Reggie & Rainbow
(writer / director)
This short film was a practice in designing a visual style and tone that captured my voice and eye as a filmmaker. It also reminded me that some of the most memorable stories come from taking strange ideas seriously. It gave me another opportunity to blend comedy with heart while collaborating with an incredible team to create a world that felt specific, playful, and sincere.
Clementine
(writer / director)
This was the first project where I realized how much I love building something from the ground up. Wearing multiple hats as writer, director, producer, and actor (in several roles) taught me how every creative decision — from casting to production design to performance — helps shape a story. It also showed me how much I enjoy leading a team toward a shared vision.
Javelina Run
(writer / producer / casting director)
This film reinforced one of my favorite creative challenges: making ambitious ideas feel bigger than the resources available. It pushed me to think creatively, solve problems on the fly, and focus on the details that make a fictional world feel lived in. It was a practice in finding ways specificity in language and tone can add so much to a film project.
The Princess Bride Live
(table read)
I wanted to see what would happen if talented local actors gathered for a live reading of one of the most beloved movies ever made — for charity, and in honor of the late, great Rob Reiner. We sold tickets, filled a room, and created an evening that reminded me why I love producing live experiences. It wasn't just a live reading. It was an experiment.
Could strangers leave feeling like collaborators?
It confirmed something I'd been wondering for years: people aren't just looking for events — they're looking for places to belong.
More of these to come very soon!
Danger Island! is the future I’m building.
It's an ongoing effort to build a creative home for ambitious artists. A place where stories, events, films, and community all intersect. It's where everything I care about finally comes together.
If you're curious, I'd love to show you where it's headed.
Content Creation
THE AUDITION THAT GOT ME A ROLE IN…
A weekly series that lets me sharpen my acting, writing, directing, editing, and comedic instincts. It's also a convenient excuse to become wildly overqualified at pretending to audition for movies that wrapped a long time ago.
BRAND COLLABORATIONS
I've always loved personal style as another form of storytelling. Recently, that has led to collaborations with clothing brands, creating authentic content that blends fashion, personality, and filmmaking. These partnerships have become another outlet for creative direction, visual storytelling, and connecting with an engaged audience. I'm especially interested in partnering with brands that value storytelling… not just advertising.
How I Work:
I Imagine.
Connect People & Ideas
I connect ideas other people haven't connected yet. Whether that's solving a story problem or imagining an entirely new project, I'm at my best when someone says, "I never would've thought of that."
Build Worlds
I don't just develop scripts. I build worlds — ones with their own tone, rules, history, and atmosphere. I'm interested in creating stories people want to revisit, not just watch once.
Obsess Over Details
I believe details create worlds. Typography, wardrobe, production design, dialogue, music, even the experience before someone walks into an event—they all tell the same story. I'm happiest when every piece feels intentional.
I Gather.
Build Communities
I have absolutely loved producing sold-out live table reads, with many more to come. I’m building DANGER ISLAND! to be a creative home for filmmakers and artists and I’m constantly introducing collaborators who end up making things together.
Create Momentum
I don't spend much time waiting for permission.
When I believe in an idea, my instinct is to gather the right people, start building, and figure it out together. Whether that's launching a comedy series, producing a live event, or creating a brand-new creative community, I love helping ideas gain traction and inviting others to be part of the journey.
I Make.
Make Things Happen
I'm an idea person… but I'm not only an idea person.
I've written, produced, directed, and acted in award-winning short films, launched podcasts, organized live events, and continue developing a slate of original features. Ideas only matter if they become real.
Care Deeply
I don't believe passion and professionalism are opposites.
The projects I care about get my full attention because I genuinely want them to succeed. I want collaborators to feel supported, audiences to feel welcomed, and every person involved to leave feeling like they were part of something worthwhile.
